RITCHIE RACING SCCA AMERICAN SEDAN
2001 SEASON UPDATE
Ritchie Racing has completed a successful 2001 season with an invitation to the SCCA Runoffs where we scored a top ten finish, racing nearly forty of the best American Sedan racers in the United States. We received a great deal of positive attention, both at Mid-Ohio and racing for the lead in almost every race of the year in our own division. Even though I had extensive lower back surgery early in the racing season, we missed only one division National. When we run in the top three consistently, in a class as competitive as AS, the other drivers, crews, and spectators take notice, and when they do, they notice that we are winning with Goodyear tires.
At the 2001 Runoffs we started 23rd and steadily moved through the pack to finish in the top ten, in spite of two incidents of heavy contact, one which spun our car and brought it to a momentary stop.
We greatly appreciate the support of our sponsors and fans during these intense and expensive years. In 2002, we expect to win more National races and the Southwest Division National Championship. In addition, we are poised to earn a trophy at the 2002 SCCA Runoffs.
The www.ritchieracing.com Internet web site that includes links to our sponsors and photos of our current and past cars has been up and running for almost two years. We have received many positive comments about the site. Visits or "hits" have been monitored. The number of hits increase significantly in the weeks following a race and there is a good mix of new and repeat visitors.
